Large Item Trash Day Saturday

Block House Creek large item trash day is this Saturday, 7/16/2011. Bring your large trash to Jumano Park from 9 am – 2 pm. Prepare for a short line that backs up towards Scottsdale drive along Block House Creek Drive. Bring a water or electric bill to prove you live in the neighborhood.

Large item trash day is typically the third Saturday of each month. Trash excluded from the program includes non-residential trash, flammables, hazardous materials, poisons and tires.

Birds Nest at Jumano Park

Jumano Park is for nature lovers. As we were hiking through Jumano park one morning, a cardinal took off from this tree so we took a closer look at the tree suspecting a bird nest and sure enough, she had a nest full of eggs. We took a couple of snapshots and quickly left so the cardinal could return safely. It was a rewarding experience to spot this nest in Jumano.

Comanche Park Walking Trail

Comanche park is rather small but it has a walking trail that winds and forks its way through the hilly area. There is also a large American flag there.

Apache Park

Playground at Apache Park

Apache park is on the other side of the neighborhood from Tumlinson park.

It has a great swimming pool for lap swimming. There are also frequent water aerobics classes held there. The pool is heated so it’s hard not to make this a favorite stop after a hard day’s work.
